“ Come to the Otto Center which is South of the Zoo entrance. Call for specific directions. 619-557-3962. ”
This is the beginning of a series of art workshops at the San Diego Zoo that combine a live wild animal encounter with making a work of art. Artist Elizabeth Washburn (www.ewashburn.com) leads the workshop with help from San Diego Zoo animal educators. This workshop is designed for the beginner art enthusiast as well as the more experienced artist. It is a chance to get up close and personal to a raptor or wolf and then create a piece of art reflecting this experience. A love of animals and art is all that is necessary. Elizabeth is an experienced art instructor, teaching at SDMA, UCSD and the Athenaeum School of the Arts. She will guide you through the process of making an artwork.
