From the beltway, take 66 west, exit north on VA-28 (toward Dulles Airport) staying in the right lane during and after the exit. This lane turns onto Walney Rd., the pond is about 500yds on the left. Parking is in front of the Pond immediately adjacent to the road.

If this is your first time painting plein air, and you need advice re: your paint kit and other outdoor necessities, please email me. I paint oil, have good experience with pastels, and have used watercolor in the past.

    • “ Beautiful, beautiful place to paint, even tho day was cloudy and gray. Right as I left the sun peeped out and the lotus blossoms opened as if to say, "Come back when we're out in sunshine!" It was really fun meeting everyone - there is something so inspiring about hanging out with creative people. Was my first plein air and I loved it. Can't wait for the next one! Will post pix later of everyone's work as of the time I left. Elizabeth ”
